ITINERARY
Depart Victoria for Kamloops - August 18, Monday
The route today takes you through the fertile Fraser Valley, and the rugged Fraser Canyon. Visit the old roadhouse, Ashcroft Manor and partake of afternoon tea, before heading eastward along the Thompson River to Kamloops, the largest city in B.C.'s Cariboo region.
Kamloops to Quesnel - August 19, Tuesday
Explore Cariboo Country with its rolling hills, ranches and forested areas. See Williams Lake, home of one of the west's major rodeos, and stay in Quesnel, the town with the world's largest goldpan.
Quesnel to Prince George - August 20, Wednesday
The goldfever that gripped Barkerville a century ago made it an exciting place to be. The entire morning is set aside for exploring the restored gold rush town. There will be plenty of time to see the town and join your escort for lunch at Wake Up Jake's Restaurant. Tonight you are in the northern metropolis of Prince George.
Prince George to Smithers - August 21, Thursday
Relive the colourful past of trappers, traders, pioneers and aboriginal people with a visit to Fort St. James, a restored Hudson's Bay Company trading post. Lunch is included here, as well as a guided tour. Accommodation tonight is in Smithers, at the base of Hudson Bay Mountain, along the Bulkley River.
Smithers to Prince Rupert - August 22, Friday
A beautiful drive today, stopping at Moricetown Falls and the Kitwancool Totems. The highlight of the day is a hosted visit to 'Ksan Village, at Hazelton, the reconstructed Gitksan aboriginal community. Then, follow the Skeena, the river of mists, to Prince Rupert for an overnight stop.
Prince Rupert to Port Hardy - August 23, Saturday
Bon Voyage! Cruising the Inside Passage today, on the Queen of the North. The ferry winds its way among a labyrinth of sheltered channels, past small coastal villages and a myriad of islands. Individual staterooms on board are included to add to your enjoyment of this beautiful trip. You will overnight at Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island.
Port Hardy to Victoria - August 24, Sunday
From north to south, see the varied landscape of Vancouver Island. Interesting stops along the way for meals and sightseeing ensure a memorable day. Your British Columbia journey concludes this evening in the provincial capital of Victoria.
